He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee Wells and Peggy Wells; his brothers, Danny Wells and Mark Wells; and his daughter Alicia Johnson.

He is survived by : his wife Ceason Wells; his children, Stephanie, Stevie, Christina, Cassie and Steven Ryan; and his brothers, Mike Wells and Jim Wells. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
