He was predeceased by: his parents, John Zirkle and Wilda Edwards Zirkle; his wife Beverly Elliott; and his daughters, Susan Goodlove and Cathie Griffin.
He is survived by: his children, John Zirkle and Debbie Sample (Bob). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
