He is survived by: his wife Carla Hysten of Topeka, KS; his son Brian Hysten of Topeka, KS; his siblings, Fred Hysten of Atchison, KS, Lloyd Hysten of Lawrence, KS, Joe Hysten of Topeka, KS, Patrick Hysten of Lawrence, KS, Judy Billings of Topeka, KS, Christine Hightower of Topeka, KS, Vicki Stone of Horton, KS, Mary Ruddy of Ozawkie, KS, Rose Godfrey and Valerie Hysten of Las Vegas, NV; his son Emerson Duane Downing; and his siblings, Clifford, Richard Hysten and Margaret Grier. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
