He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Wilhoite Blackwell and Warner D. Blackwell; his son Darrell Blackwell; and his siblings, Gaylord Blackwell, Billie J. Lane, Winnie Blackwell-Madison and Ella Blackwell.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Poole Blackwell; his children, Palmer Blackwell Jr. of Topeka, Kansas, Marquise Blackwell of Topeka, Kansas, Dawn Yates (Aaron) of Atlanta, Georgia of Topeka, Christy Richards of Topeka, Breaonica Blackwell of Topeka, Reba Houston (Jamel) of Houston, Texas and Kelly Johnson of Houston, Texas; his stepchildren, Teresa Broadway Alice Thompson (Dural) of Topeka, Kansas, Eddie Stano of Topeka, Kansas and Tara Stano of Topeka, Kansas; and his sisters, Lois Blackwell-Brown and Sharon Blackwell-Williams of Topeka, Kansas. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
