He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph and Margaret Appelhanz, Sr. (Puhl); and his sisters, Rosella Appelhanz, Margaret Shields, Josephine Robinson and Patricia Burghart.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Wessel; his children, Marsha Stafford (Chris) of Topeka, Jason D. Appelhanz (Tracy) of Scranton and Troy Appelhanz (Kelsey) of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Curtis Stafford (Detta), Austin Stafford (Haleena), Aynsley Appelhanz and Jaxon Appelhanz; and his siblings, Richard Appelhanz (Charlene), Mary Anne Haag, Ruth Phillips (Dennis) and Paulette Hafenstein (Mike).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in his memory to Sacred Heart/St.
