She was predeceased by : her parents, H. D. "Jack" and JoAnn McConnaughey Whetstine; her former life partner David Twombly; her husband William "Bill" Saunders; and her brothers, Larry Whetstine and John Whetstine.
She is survived by : her children, Steven Twombly (Julie) of Blue Springs, MO, Kimberly Cater (Mark) of Smithville, MO, Lane Saunders (Michelle) of Highland and Jared Saunders of Lawrence, KS; her brother Jason Whetstine of Lawrence; her sisters-in-law, Virginia Whetstine and Kathleen McKay Twombly; her grandchildren, Joshua, Trevor, Dustin Saunders, Dale, Derek, Daniel Twombly, Amani and Aisha Al-Hallaq; and her great grandchildren, Kendal, Koder, Zoey, Evee, Hugh, Adelaide, Cecelia and Ivan.
