He was predeceased by : his parents, Alva Ditmars and Nora Gauby Ditmars; his wife Ada Fae; and his siblings, Lloyd Ditmars, John Ditmars, Sherman Ditmars, Lucy Rose, Blanch Roop, Ruth Moffitt, Eula Thayer, Bessie Penner and Dora Ditmars.

He is survived by : his daughters, Gina Miller (Tony) and Kristie Hiiva (Dave); and his sisters, Ina Fike (Elmer) and Maud Lengel.
