He was predeceased by: his parents, Veryl Aaron and Esther Cecilia Chaplin (Kretchmar); and his spouse Vienna Marie Henley. He is survived by: his children, Harlan Chaplin (Jaylene) of Fredonia, Francis Chaplin (Sunni) of Piedmont and Glenda Chaplin (Stephanie Mitchell) of Olathe; his grandchildren, Travis Vaughn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jaimie (Nathan Greenwood) of Council Grove, Baily of Fredonia and Braxton Chaplin of Fredonia; his great grandchildren, Hannah and Natalie Vaughn; and his siblings, Larry Hess (Sallee) of Waverly, Dale Hess (Barbara) of Lake Spivey, Georgia, Wayne Hess of Waverly, Sherlyn Graham of Wichita, Marilyn Eccles (Gene) of Waverly, Norma Stagner (Dale) of Wichita and Joyce Krueger (Dwight) of Lebo. He is also survived by his father at age 3 and lived with his grandparents until his mother.
