He was predeceased by: his mother Fern McIntyre (Pratt); and his wife Beatrice "Bea" Yates. He is survived by: his children, Blake McIntyre (Mary) of Osage City and Gay Giffin (Gary) of Waverly; and his grandsons, Trent Giffin, Joseph McIntyre, Sean Gibson (Amanda), Nicholas McIntyre (Sarah) and Daniel McIntyre (Anna).

Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
