He was predeceased by: his parents, John Forrest and Helen B. Edwards (Friend); his brother Paul Duane Edwards; and his stepdaughter Julie Saville. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Jane Edwards; his children, Tommy Edwards (Janell Vulgamore) of Wellington, Dianne Miller (Harvey) of Wellington and Richard Edwards (Amber) of Van Alstyne; his stepchildren, Jona Sue Edgerton of Winfield, Brian Cook (Lorrine) of Wellington and Brett Cook of Monte Vista; his siblings, John F. Edwards (Virginia) of Ponca City, Gary Edwards of Arvada and MaryAnn Hennig (Phil) of Wellington; his grandchildren, Tabitha Thornton (Jimmy) of Mayfield, Jarrod Miller of Wellington, Jessica Brown (Michael) of Denver, Tyler Miller of Wellington, Lauren Chevalier (Cryprian) of Pinetop, Katelyn Davidson (Jake) of Winfield, Chase Edwards of Wellington, Logan Campbell (Ashley) of Dallas, Adam Edgerton (Amber) of Wellington, Tiffany Mashak of Winfield, Ashley Cook of Cedar Falls, Kyle Johnston of Wichita and Brandy Hokit of Oklahoma City; and his former wife Janet Whaley of Wellington. He is also survived by children and numerous nieces and nephews.
