He was predeceased by : his parents, Franz Busenitz and Margaretha Wiebe Busenitz; his wife Susie Wilma Ortmann; his children, Jonathan Busenitz and Juanita Funk; his grandson Douglas Pierce; his great grandchildren, Levi, Haley, Jamie, Erin, Malachi, Dani, Kathleen, Joshua, Alex, Harper, Remington and James; and his siblings, Ed, Katie, Frank, Ben, Louise and Frieda.
He is survived by : his children, Robert Busenitz (Marilyn) of Dallas, Stephen Busenitz of Whitewater, Mark Busenitz (Joan) of Hulett, Ruben Busenitz (Diana) of Busby Montana, Ethan Busenitz (Denise) of Whitewater, Earl Busenitz (Cori) of Hulett, Wyoming, Fern Rudolph (Richard) of Meadows, Virginia, Elizabeth Pearce (James) of Whitewater, Lillian Jerred (Daniel) of Valpraiso and Pearl Nanninga (Kip) of Castle Rock, Colorado; and his children-in-law, Dave Funk of Newton and Rachel Busenitz (Gordon) of Newton.
