He was predeceased by: his brother Gilbert Daniel (Gib); his son Timothy; and the mother of his children Helen Johnson Hill. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis K. Hill; his siblings, Milo Hill (Merle), Ross Hill, Sheridan Hill (Wanda), Chris Hill (Sharon), Caroline Silverstone (David) and Kathleen Jerdan (Brian); his son Michael Hill (Sandra); his stepchildren, Kraig Pennington (Wanda), Kevin Pennington (Jessica) and Kim Olsen (Tom); and his grandchildren, David Hill, Daniel Hill, Erin Stanley, Matt Miller, Kenneth Reed, Kristopher Reed, Jessica Brooks, James Wilson, Alan Pennington, Amanda Cannon, Rebecca Pennington and Zachary Pennington.

A memorial has been established in his name and loving memory of David Hill with First Church of the Nazarene 1400 E Kellogg Dr. Wichita KS 67211.
