He was predeceased by: his wife Judith Mathis; his parents, Worth Mathis and Lorene Westbrook; and his brother-in-law Coy Richie. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Mathis (Kimberly), Keith Mathis (Janet Alberecht) and Karen Mathis (Derrick Ellsworth); his sister Shirley Richie; his grandchildren, Danielle Hutton (Rick), Cierra Grayson, Brandi Mathis, Jessica Mathis, Jared Mathis (Alize), Jada Mathis and Kasey Mathis; and his great grandchildren, Natayia Dean, Niazyia Dean, Ryan Watie, Wyvon Dean, Bryan Watie, Avionna Grayson, Jamauri Mathis and Jared Mathis.
