He was predeceased by: his wife LaVonne "June" Murphy (Harding); his parents, Harry Murphy and Nina Murphy (Anderson); and his siblings, Les Murphy, Ruth Buller, Shirley Wagner and Henry Murphy.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Murphy of Kansas City, MO, Patrick Murphy (Vickie) of Overland Park, KS, Kathleen Burbach (Jeff Burbach) of Derby, KS and Deana Stroer (Tracey) of Wichita, KS; his siblings, Verna Stanwix of Lawrence, KS, Dale Murphy of Lawrence, KS and Georgia Oehrle of Overland Park, KS; his grandchildren, Kimberly Sykes (Jeff), Jaime Zufelt (Shaun), Jessica Brown (Larry), Dustin Murphy (Christina), Megan Pruitt (Kyle), Holly Mackey (Nolan) and Kira Kain; and his great grandchildren, Levi, Freddy, Scott, Addison, Aysha and Korben.
A graveside service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Clinton Cemetery (1203 E 500 Rd, Lecompton Township, KS 66049).
