He was predeceased by: his child Book Illustrator; and his parents, Charles Ladwig and Kathryn Ladwig. He is survived by: his wife Leah Ladwig; his children, Makayla Ladwig of Wichita, Briana Ladwig (Brian) of Lawrence, KS and David Ladwig of Brooklyn, NY; his grandchildren, Zaza and Aiden; and his brothers, Craig Ladwig (Shelly) and Phil Ladwig (Gay).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd., Wichita, KS 67203.
