It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sylvia Joyce (Downes) Stites in Yates Center, Kansas, who passed away on July 18, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Lawrence Willis and Nellie Victoria Downes (Valentine); her husband Jack Stites; her brother Bill; her daughter Sally; and her grandchildren, Kevin Cranor, Chad Harshman, Curtis Cranor and Katherine Walker.

She is survived by : her children, Herbert Stites of Mt. View, Bert Stites of Siren, Ben Stites of Altoona, Kansas, Nellie Kobelt of Buffalo, Jackie Day of Bella Vista and Martha Walker of El Dorado, Kansas; and her brothers, David Downes of Arkansas, Grover Downes of Arkansas and Ace Downes of Arkansas. She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren 27 Great Grandchildren 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.
