He was predeceased by : his parents, Aloysius Velten and Ledvenia Polking Velten; his wife Martha Ann Velten (Jacober); and his siblings, Austin "Tony" Velten O. S. B., Bob Velten O. S. B., Mary Margaret Enzweiler and Rose Ann Gingerich.
He is survived by : his children, Linda Velten, Sally Foltz (Gary), Nancy Icard, Mary Velten, Tim Velten (Lin) and Joe Velten (Leti); his brother Don Velten (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, John Velten, Sarah Kemphaus, Corinne Dunn, Maria Icard and Leslie Velten.
