He was predeceased by: his parents, Carter M. Brown and Maybell Fraley Brown; and his siblings, David Brown and Joan Eskridge. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Moses Brown of Ashland; his children, Dr. Carter Matthew Brown (Susan) of Louisville and Melinda LeFleche of Boston, MA; his brother Timothy Brown (Beverly) of Winston Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Collin LeFleche, Adam LeFleche, Caroline LeFleche, David Brown, Michael Brown and Tyler Brown; and his nieces, Jill Eskridge Turner (Joe) of Ashland and JoEllen Eskridge Bowman (Jim) of Ashland.
