He was predeceased by: his parents, John Phillips and Mary Belle Hopkins Phillips; and his siblings, Paul Phillips, Jack Phillips, Bob Phillips, Dave Phillips, Bill Phillips, Ken Phillips, Gene Phillips and Sybil Skipper.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Ann Chinn Phillips; his son Daniel Edward Phillips (Kim) of Ashland, KY; his grandsons, Cole Phillips (Hannah) and Nolan Phillips; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Phillips of North Carolina, Patty Phillips of Ashland and John Chinn (Susan) of Ashland.
