He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edwin Shaffer Sr. and Rowena Wade Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Esther "Sissy" Shaffer; his son Joseph Edwin Shaffer III (Marrianne) of Russell; and his sister Sherry Childers (Marvin) of Ashland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family and friends.
