He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Woodruff Thompson Sr. and Margaret Ison Thompson; and his brother Jack R. Hood. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Thompson of Ashland; his daughters, Cathy Anderson (Jim) of Ashland, Cindy Stapleton of Louisburg, NC and Carol Thompson of Ashland; and his grandchildren, Matthew Anderson (Jamie), David Anderson, Jessica Stapleton, Cassandra Stapleton and Benjamin Thompson Cooksey. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
