We are sad to announce that on November 1, 2019, at the age of 97, Gertalene Bowling McDowell (Ashland, Kentucky) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Columbus and Zora Elizabeth Ward Bowling; her husband Calvin McDowell; and her siblings, Ishmael Ray Bowling, Jeddie Bowling, Jesse Bowling, Hollie Bowling, Paul Bowling, Nola Mae Bowling, Beulah Kazee, Edna Sexton and Perlina Clarkston Fry.
She is survived by: her children, Fred L. McDowell (Nancy), Charles Randall McDowell (Pam), Terry Doug McDowell (Vickie) and Rita Carhart (Mark); her sister Gladys Brown; and her grandchildren, Tina Bryan (Tom), Chris McDowell (Amy), Leslie McDowell, Brad McDowell, Matthew McDowell (Leah), Jerry Goodwin (Missi), Deanna Lambert (Eric), Cindy Gaskin (Mike) and Dustin Carhart (Edwina). She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gertalene's memory may be made to Straight Creek Church of the Nazarene or to Community Hospice.
