He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Hill and Ethel Helton Hill; his spouse Ollie Freda Simpson Hill; his children, James Joseph Hill II and Honey Lynn Hill Bevins; and his sisters, Monnie Estep, Audrey Strother, Shelia Taylor and Mabel Butler.
He is survived by: his daughter Deanne Hill Tackett (Daniel) of St David; and his siblings, Anthony Wendell Hill of Jacksonville, Harold Hill of Florida, Lina Bryan of Texas and Pam McCarty of Ohio. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
