It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Vestal Looney Jr. (Ashland, Kentucky), born in Grundy, Virginia, who passed away on June 19, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Looney and Rathmer Cooper Rife; his son Kevin Looney McCoy; and his sisters, Beatrice Simpkins and Fay Rife.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Loraine Scott; his children, Pamela Looney and Gregory Looney; his grandchildren, Amy Bollman and Bret Looney; his great grandchildren, Easton, Grayson and Colton; his daughter Jamie Pennington; his grandchildren, Stacy Saunders, Kelly Horn and Christy Morgan; his great grandchildren, Luke, Jaycee, Marley and Aspen; his granddaughter Jill Strasser; his great grandchildren, Carter and Ava; his niece Lynn Baise; and his siblings, Elsie Stevenson, Doris Blankenship, Sue Looney, Myrtle Daniels and Tom Rife, Jr.. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren & fur babies.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or your local animal shelter.
