He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Simpson and Octavia Runyon Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Helen Elkins Simpson of Ashland; and his children, Kevin Simpson of Ashland and Beth Lastinger (Lane) of Ashville, NC. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
