He was predeceased by: his parents, John Skeans and Emma Sellards Skeans; and his children, Michael Edward Skeans, Kathy Ann Skeans and Debbie Lynn Skeans.
He is survived by: his wife Nadean Lawson Skeans of Ashland; his son James Cecil Skeans (Christie) of Ashland; his brother Paul David Skeans of Ozark, Missouri; and his stepsons, Timothy Kennedy (Kim) of Hawaii and David Kennedy (Lisa) of North Carolina. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
