She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Suffragan Bishop Elzy Thomas and Margaret Thomas; her husband Ernest Nelson; her sons, Andrew Nelson (Sara) and Austin Nelson; her sisters, Karen Troxler (Walter "Butch"), Kristi Rogers (Gregory), Karla Thomas, Kerry Johnson (Beach), Kimburly Colburn (Scott) and Katrina Thomas; and her grandchildren, DeAndrew Nelson, Amiyla Nelson, Amira Nelson, Aliyah Nelson and Cyrus Nelson.
