He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Edwin Carter, Jr., Kathy Sue Lucas of Ashland and Diane Lynn Carter of Ashland; his grandchildren, Justin Carter, Krystal Lucas, Aaron Helton (Taylor), Adam Helton, Gavin Taylor, Gatlin Pinkerman, Gabrielle Taylor, Layla Carter and Cooper Helton; and his brother Richard "Dick" Carter (Beverly) of Grayson. He is also survived by friends and extended family.
