He was predeceased by: his parent Paul Darrell; his daughter Amanda Ray Simpson; his grandson Connor Carl Mays; and his brother-in-law Garland White. He is survived by: his parent Virginia Katherine Moore Simpson; his wife Tammy Young Simpson of Ashland; his children, Timothy Scott Simpson of Ashland, Gregory Allen Mays (Aleata) of Ashland, Angela Dawn Hammond (Chris) of Flatwoods, Ashley Daryl Gilliam (Johnny) of Charleston, SC and Tiffany Michelle Fox (Ryan) of South Shore, KY; his siblings, George Simpson (Judy) and Patricia White of Ashland; and his grandchildren, Courtney Cox (Simeon), Kaitlin Hammond, Alex Hammond, Alexis Scott, Austin Stein, Andrew Gilliam, Madilynn Gilliam, Rilynn Gilliam, Eilynn Gilliam, Caroline Fox, Lucas Mays and Owen Mays. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
