He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Stanton Clayton Sr. and Elizabeth Witten Clayton; his wife Judith Fultz Clayton; and his siblings, Charles, Edgar Clayton and Dorothy Humphrey.
He is survived by: his children, Edgar "E. J." and Stacey Clayton Rhodes (Thomas) of Eleanor, W. V; his grandchildren, Lexie Clayton Boyd (Trent), Luke, Lauren and Beau Rhodes; and his great grandchild Gracelynn Marie Boyd.
Due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Lee Jackson officiating.
