He is survived by : his wife Verla Ruth Burns; his children, Gary Wayne Hicks, Jr. (Debra) of Falmouth, Kentucky, Melissa Ellen Hudson (Robert) of Greenville and Amy Kay Tate (Keith) of Lakeland, Florida; his grandchildren, Cassandra Byers, Marcus Tate of Lakeland, Leighton Hudson, Nathan Hudson (Michele) and Jeremiah Hudson (Casey); his great grandchild David Byers; his sisters, Sue Whitaker (Don) and Jennifer Rice; his stepchildren, John, Barbara Weiss, Anna Weiss, David, Dawn Weiss, Andrew, Angie Weiss, Leanna and Mark Priest; and his stepgrandchildren, Justin Weiss, Royse Hamilton, Travis Weiss, Trenton Weiss, Amanda Snelgrove, Katherine Butler, Spenser Weiss and Natalee Weiss.
