He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Wilkins and Mildred Wilkins; and his mother-in-law Judy S. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Libby Smith Wilkins; his children, James Andrew "Chip" Wilkins, II (Mollie) of Bowling Green and Ann McCullough Wilkins Cook (Bud) of Summerville, SC; his siblings, Becky Wilkins Harrell (Woody) of Bowling Green and Nicholas E. Wilkins of Bowling Green; his grandchildren, Trace, Hunt and Elizabeth Wilkins; his father-in-law Thomas E. Smith, IV of Murfreesboro, TN; and his brothers-in-law, E. Rhett Smith (Hopelyn) of Naples, FL, T. Scott Smith (Kaye) of Sullivan's Island, SC and Shannon Smith Bouldin (Laws) of Murfreesboro, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
