He was predeceased by: his wife Novella Gatlin; his siblings, Gussie Smith, Anderson "Sam" Gatlin and Matthew Gatlin; his great grandchild Maliek Capers; and his grandson Jamah Gatlin.
He is survived by: his children, Belinda Jones of Buffalo, NY, Fred Gatlin Jr. of Queens, NY, Anderson "Pop" Gatlin of Louisville, KY, Ronnie Gatlin of Long Island, NY and Sabrina Gatlin of Queens, NY; his grandchild Pastor; and also, Joanne and Jake. He is also survived by daughter-in-law who became a trusted confidant and helper, Patricia Gatlin; other children-in-law, many nieces, nephews, godchildren, adopted children.
