He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Courtney and Goldie Courtney; his wife Pamela A Courtney; and his sisters, Peggy Courtney and Margaret Adams.

He is survived by: his children, Rev. Kevin Courtney (Anita) and Melissa Jones; and his granddaughters, Elyssa Courtney and Robyn Lowe (Trent).

Memorials may be made to the Bracken County Animal Shelter.
