He was predeceased by: his parents, Ike Charles Cottrell and Cora Lee Hensley Willis; his wife Betty Craig Cottrell; his stepfather Quinton Willis; and his siblings, Burle Cottrell, Harold Cottrell, Loreen Vincient, Thelma Holland, Imogene Bean and Barbara Hare.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gina Cottrell (Billy Basham) of Cadiz and Vanessa Cottrell of Cadiz; his siblings, Teddy Willis of Erwin, Tennessee, Robin Sprouse (Bucky) of Erwin and Ginger Cooper (Rick) of Booneville, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Madison Carter and Joshua Sledge; and his great grandchild Faith Sledge.
