We bid farewell to Dorothy Mae Hopson in Cadiz, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 16, 2025 at the age of 79. Dorothy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vesta II and George V. Sholar II; her husband Arthur Henry Hopson; and her siblings, Pete Sholar, Lemon Sholar, Carl Sholar, George V. Sholar III, Shelby Sholar, Ralph D. Sholar, Lena Mae Wilson, Courtney Harris and Zaebrulah Wesley.
She is survived by: her children, Francina Grubbs, Yvette "Becky" Williams, Elaine Greer, Bonita Ferguson (Charles), Dexter Hopson (Charmaine) and Laketa Hopson; her sisters, Loretta Howard (Kenneth) and Jeanetta Amorin; and her friends, Leslie Avery and Dave Gray. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gamble Funeral Home (1311 Liberty St, Hopkinsville, KY 42240). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bloomfield Baptist Church (171 Jefferson St, Cadiz, KY 42211).
