He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ellis Dowell and Eva Elizabeth Dowell; and his siblings, Bill Dowell, Mike Dowell and Betty Joyce.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ligon Dowell; his daughters, Laurie Dowell Pittman and Donna Ann Dowell; his grandchildren, Logan Pittman, Blake Dowell (Mara), Hillaree Pittman Hicks, Katie Pittman (Bryson) and Zack Owen Pittman; his great grandchildren, Layla and Mattie Grace; and his brother Bob Dowell (Brenda) of West Paducah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Wounded Warriors, Central Church of Christ Build Fund at 2201 Washington Street, Paducah, KY, or to St Jude Children's Hospital.
