We are sad to announce that on April 19, 2024, at the age of 94, James Douglas Fothergill (Carrollton, Kentucky) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry James Douglas' memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May James Douglas' journey be filled with peace and serenity, as his find rest in the embrace of eternity.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther D. Fothergill and Katherine Jett Fothergill. He is survived by : his wife Eleanor Rachel Gash Fothergill; his children, Douglas M. "Doug" Fothergill (Debbie) of Carrollton, KY and Jamee Rachel Reyes of Lexington, KY; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Logan of Carrollton, KY, Hope Smith and Michael Reyes of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; along with a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carrollton Christian Church (310 5th St, Carrollton, KY 41008). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 912 Seminary St, Carrollton, KY 41008.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Bluegrass Center For Autism or the Carrollton Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
