In loving memory of Donna Mae Purvis of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, who departed this world on October 15, 2025 at the age of 83. Donna leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Though Donna may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Donna touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Samples and Beulah Buffington Samples; and her husband Paul E. Purvis. She is survived by: her daughters, Shirley Akers Gouffon of Atlanta, GA and Bonnie Akers Bishop of Charlotte, NC; her brothers, James Samples of Danville, IN and Earl Samples of Kenova, WV; and her granddaughters, Kalyn Bishop Puckett (Matthew) and Kyleigh Danielle Bishop.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel (1501 Central Ave, Ashland, KY 41101).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Ashland Community Hospice Care Center.
