He is survived by : his children, Buck Shelton (Emily) of Wingo and Rebecca Reed of Wingo; and his grandchildren, Gage Crider, Gracie Bradley of Wingo, Jenna Doss of Wingo and Allie Shelton of Wingo.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations made in Johnnie's name to St. Jude Children Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
