He was predeceased by: his sons, Timothy Jackson and Jack Jackson; his parents, Jack Jackson and Mildred Brown Jackson; and his siblings, Luther, Leon, Chester, Clancy Jackson, Donna Alsip and Janice Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Walters Jackson; and his children, Ernest Jackson Jr., Mildred Ellen Johnson and Annette Brown. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
