He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Kirby and Alice Farthing Kirby; his siblings, Arnold Underwood Kirby, Clarence Kirby, Willard Kirby and Betty Kirby; and his grandson Shannon Carl Kirby.
He is survived by: his sons, Delbert Preston Kirby (Betty) and Dana Hoover; his sister Elsie Gibson; and his grandchildren, Preston Kirby (Pamela), Brian Kirby (Lindsey), Rhonda Hoover, Steve Hoover, Jody Hoover and James Hoover. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
