It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanette Shumate of Corbin, Kentucky, born in Harlan, Kentucky, who passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Reverend Glen Shumate; her parents, Joe Lawson and Juanita Lawson; and her siblings, Ralph Lawson and Shellie Joetta Hash.
She is survived by: her son Douglas Shumate (Christie); her grandson Elijah Shumate; her sibling's children, Tammy Baker (Jerry), Stacy Carroll, Holly Taylor (Stephen), Brad Baker, Joe Hash (Rebecca), Krystal Baker (Jason), Julie Helton, Aron Lundy (Jason), Luke Lundy (Jessyca), Elisha, Daniel Lundy, Savannah, Shelby Wilson, Brady, Mayley Helton, Payton, Jaxon Taylor, Beau, Carter and Chloie Hash; her cousins, Doyle Lawson (Maxine), Earl "Junior" Barton (Donna) and Bruce Rains (Sherry); and her friends, Jim, Brenda Sebastian, Bob and Barbara Stulz. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
