She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elmer Hammons and Jeanetta Sue Barnes Hammons; her husband Ronald Leigh Mitchell; her sons, Michael Hammons (Rachel Black) of London and John Mitchell (Sarah Hicks) of Corbin; her sisters, Gwen Hammons of Lexington and Sherry Hammons of Lexington; her grandchildren, Hannah Hammons, Hayley Hammons, Elijah Hammons, Dustin Black, Ryan Brown, Madison Hicks, Morgan Hicks, Malorie Hicks and Mase Hicks; and her niece Lizzy Newell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with the cost of the funeral.
