With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bessie Mae Alexander (Crofton, Kentucky), born in Mortons Gap, Kentucky, who passed away on December 1, 2019 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Bessie Mae Alexander to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clint Almon and Mattie May Lovin; her former husband Hugh Speed Gilkey; her husband Kendall Lyell Alexander; her daughter Melinda Kay Alexander; and her siblings, Charles Everett Almon, Bobby Wilson Almon, Jerry Wayne Almon and Hilda Joyce Farris.
She is survived by: her sons, David Hugh Gilkey (Carolyn) of Hopkinsville, Kendall Alexander (Brenda) of Crofton, Joey Alexander (Lori) and Wendall Alexander (Kelly) of Crofton; and her sisters, Madolyn Stringer of Earlington, KY and Vanita Cullen of Port Orange, FL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Crofton Baptist Church Building Fund.
