He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Lee and Clyda Hatfield Overstreet; his former wife Betty "Boo" Overstreet; his son Russell Dale Overstreet; and his siblings, Raymond Overstreet, Edgar Overstreet, Nellie Emerson, Montie Tarter, Ethel Johnson and Ruth Anderson.

He is survived by : his wife Marguerite Murphy Cummins Overstreet; his daughter Patricia Davis (Mark); his sisters, Geneva Hagy and Electa Bingham; his granddaughters, Bridget Ward (Jim), Amie Gardner (Frank) and Erica Skiles; his step-daughters, Carla Simpson (Larry) and Trena Rogers (late Vernon); his step-grandchildren, Matt Simpson (Meagan) and Megan Simpson; his great grandchildren, Dylan, Mallory, Karli Joe, Kiera, Mackenzie, Addyson, Briella and Frankie; his step-great-grandchildren, Julie and Harper; and his mother-in-law Millie Murphy.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 20th 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home (752 Campbellsville St, Liberty, KY 42539). A masonic service was held on Wednesday, September 20th 2023 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 21st 2023 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
