She was predeceased by : her parents, John Lafayette Crisp and Arona Bowling Thompson; her son Stephen Gardner; and her siblings, Sim Thompson, Henry Thompson and Rosie Thompson.

She is survived by : her daughters, Carolyn Grigsby (William) of Georgetown and Linda Young of Boone; her daughter-in-law Susan Gardner; her grandchildren, Bobby Grigsby, Rebecca Grigsby, John Gardner, Kelly Christopher, Leigh Ann Gardner and Stephanie Parker; and her pet Annie. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; great, great-grandchildren.
