He was predeceased by: his parents, James Swiney and Caroline Swiney (Coleman); his wife Carol Francis Swiney (Martin); and his siblings, Johnny, Gobel Swiney, Anna Rae Dotson, Irene Ward, Lola Clevinger and Ruth Bryant.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Ray of Elkhorn City, KY. and David McArthur Swiney of Elkhorn City, KY.; his sister Patricia Belcher of Ohio; his grandchildren, Ashley, Jonathon, Zachary, Taylor and Sydney; and his great grandchildren, Peyton, Madison, Jaden, Lena, Kadence, Lauren, Maysin, Liam, Emerson and Atlas.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel (112 Elkhorn St, Elkhorn City, KY 41522). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM and on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
