He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred Marcum and Gracie Arnett Marcum; and his son Donnie Ray Marcum Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Karen Hicks Marcum; his son Randy Marcum; his stepdaughter Holly Smith (Eric); his grandchildren, Alexis Marcum Taylor (Brayden) and Trinity Geneva Marcum; and his siblings, Herman Marcum of Manchester, KY, Ricky Marcum (Martha Sue) of Manchester, KY, Bobby Marcum (Glinda) of Manchester, KY, Brenda Turner (Darrell) of Manchester, KY, Shirley Bush (Freddy) of Manchester, KY and Roy Marcum of Bristol, TN.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home (510 E 4th St, London, KY 40741). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
