He was predeceased by : his parents, Granville Shannon and Josie Shannon (Pike); his wife Edith Shannon (Matherly); his son Roy Lynn Shannon; and his brother Marvin Shannon.

He is survived by : his children, Joetta Shannon of Eminence, Donna Shannon Barcus (Greg) of Ocala, Fla. and Ricky Shannon (Michele) of Hanover, Ind..
